Bingo Lands is a game developed by VFR using Unity’s game engine for Smart TVs (Amazon Fire TV, Android TV).
Our team of three (desgin department) created all the assets for the game, and my main task was to figure out a way to utilize our strengths to produce the best results in the least amount of time.
I was responsible for creating the pipeline for asset creation, ensuring an efficient and effective workflow.
Optimizing Visual Production Pipeline for Speed and Quality
The process began with a sketch of each location or shop item. Once approved, we transitioned to Blender for blocking, ensuring fidelity to the original sketches.
This step was crucial for establishing the basic forms and dimensions before progressing to more detailed modeling.
After the blocking, we applied specially crafted materials in Blender to match the predefined color schemes closely, aiming for a visual output that closely resembled the final desired result.
This approach allowed us to see a near-final version early in the process, which was essential for efficient iterations.
Subsequent quick renders were refined in Photoshop, where we added finer details and eliminated any artifacts.
This method proved invaluable for our small team of three, leveraging our individual strengths to produce customizable and modular visuals efficiently.
Changes, even significant ones like altering the perspective, were just a click away, providing flexibility and speed without compromising on the quality of the final product.
